When Mrs. D reached out for a simple yet visually effective way to celebrate her daughter, Ariel we were more than excited to work with her for a second time! Our first encounter with Mrs. D was for her son Israel's Monster Truck themed party which we designed almost a year ago. Growing up in Ghana, birthday celebrations for kids were always such a huge event that was marked with dance offs, detailed decor and fun games and activities that left us euphoric. Celebrating kids' birthdays has become such a fun and exciting aspect of this job that we always look forward to!

With our eagerness to deliver, Ariel's first birthday party was a dreamy combination of balloons and bears in a rich pink and gold colour palette. We settled on a backdrop and balloon combination in their home to create a cute display that will be perfect for the family to commemorate Ariel's special day. We loved working with Moments with Matt photography to bring the full vision to life as he captured the most precious moments of family and friends with Ariel.

 

This backdrop design was inspired by the reference picture of a cake Mrs. D found on Instagram - a beautiful tall cake with bears and balls. We conveyed this concept into our Balloons and Bears theme here which we absolutely loved and tied in seamlessly with Ariel's cake which was made by AfroCocoCakes. With the connection of bears to bees to flowers, we expanded the design to include flowers, bees and honey which we effectively displayed throughout the design in our backdrop, plinth and floral choices.

 

Every detail inscribed in our wooden structures and balloon garland worked in tandem to create a perfect balance. The balloon garland featured honey pots with bees which elevated the bear detail of our theme while the backdrop and plinth design we created emphasized our Balloons and Bears theme.

We truly enjoy what we do and can't wait to celebrate with many more kids!
