Celebrating birthdays might be our favourite service we provide, especially when we get to usher your beautiful children into a new year with friends and family. Mrs. D reached out to us to design a Monster Truck themed party for her son Israel who was turning 5 in October. From the moment we ended our Design Consultation, I was so excited to begin the brainstorming process on how best we can execute this theme. With a green and orange colour theme set in place, we went to work doing copious amounts of research on the "Monster Truck" theme to understand the world of Monster Jam and familiarize ourselves with this culture.

The design was centred around two off-road vehicles - "Grave Digger" and "El Toro" which are popular Monster Jam trucks in the green and orange colour palette that put on shows for millions of people to watch them race across this brazen course. Our fascination with the actual course itself led us to create an interactive table design that featured a monster truck course centrepiece with cars placed sparingly on the table which we knew was unique. This centrepiece took time and effort to create using spray foam insulation from Home Depot. We love a moment when we can work with so much more to create unique pieces.

Nearing event day as a designer, you always say a prayer to God hoping for sunny and clear skies! The louder the prayer, the more effective you hope it will be. Unfortunately, we were met with unexpected weather conditions which forced us to move the party to their basement where we created a one of a kind experience for Israel and his friends. Adapting is key and we made sure to deliver a very special birthday just like Mrs. D hoped for. Every detail was factored in as we created the balloon garland with race flags and oversized tires, custom stationery and signage for the backdrops, race flags covering the space, construction boxes engraved with each kid's name filled with treats and mini activities, tote bags filled with even more treats, a race course to race trucks and customized activities for all the kids to have the most amazing party.
Is it really a kids party if there isn't a treats table serving the most amazing cake, cookies and cupcakes? Mrs. D secured the services of cake designer AfroCocoCakes who blew us away by her level of talent. The beautiful tableware supplied by Bon+Co. Party Studios and the amazing photographer, FizcoMedia that captured the day's event.
It is safe to say that Israel had the most memorable 5th birthday party and can't wait to celebrate with you and your kids!
